What does love have to do with this? LOVE constantly asks us the question: "How are YOU doing?" This was asked of Adam after eating of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. And of Cain after his heart burned in anger over the rejection of his offering. How about Saul of Tarsus on his persecution journey towards Damascus?

There are so many examples of God demonstrating His providential care, concern, and compassion in the Scriptures. The thing to remember here is that even if it does not make sense, respond and react TRUTHFULLY with Him! Love cannot do it's great work without us being honest and letting God know how we feel.

Word is Bond

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
Psalm 111:5

The Scriptures declare that God is not a respector of persons. What we can take from that is that He is available and accessible to all who believe and fear Him. The fear the Bible speaks of here is not the kind of fear that you may find in horror stories; it describes a sense of respect not because of any obligation, but because you desire to make yourself available to Him fully as the God of all creation.

A covenant takes two parties in order for it to take effect. God, in His perfect state has never failed to keep His end of the bargain. God’s provisions and blessings have always been dependent upon whether or not we are in right standing with Him. In this age, the ONLY way for us to get in line to receive His gifts, blessings, and eternal provisions is through Jesus Christ!

The Son of God, Himself, declares to be the bread of life and the supply of living water that is capable of satisfying the deepest thirst. It is available for the taking, we must simply accept and believe by and in faith.

Prayer: Dear God, continue to share with us your great examples of what it means to keep promises and to live with integrity. May Your Spirit be the guide and driving force in our lives and take us in the direction of your abundant and bountiful blessings. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When The Precepts Of Men Micro Manage The Flock Of God

Every church that I have ever attended had a prayer ministry. Prayer is one of the heart beats of the church. Prayer is important, and Jesus said "My House shall be called a house of prayer". There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of prayer from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelations. There are many accounts of Christ praying, the Apostles praying, and also many accounts within the old testament about prayer.

Prayer in many ways is the lifeline of our communication with God. Through prayer we communicate with God, make our requests known to Him, enter into His presence and stand the gap as watchmen for others. It is good to pray for others. In fact, it is a humble privilege to pray for others.

In the book of Acts prayer and the laying on of hands are mentioned in various sections of scripture. In many church's today prayer and the laying on of hands is actively pursued and the ministry of the Holy Spirit flows freely.

Actually God made prayer very simple. It doesn't take some spiritual giant to pray for people. It just takes a willing vessel to step out in faith and allow the Holy Spirit to be the Holy Spirit. It's when fear, lack of faith, a religious spirit, the precepts of men and having a good church service show gets in the way and hinders the Holy Spirit, that prayer ministries become in affective. That well scripted situations.

It amazes me how we sometimes turn the Kingdom of God into this well micro managed process as if we could add something to it. It amazes me how we sometimes take the simplest of things and make them difficult and within that process diminish the power of such and the anointing of God among us. I somehow don't think Jesus had that in mind.

What is Worship?

Is worship something that we fit into a schedule? Is worship something that we do simply because others are seen doing it? Do we worship to make ourselves feel good? Do we worship to convince others of living our lives the right way?

There could be many other questions to ask about worship, but the question we should ask is: What is TRUE worship?

There are so many styles and ways to worship, but what is key is that worship focuses on GOD and NOT self! When you move away from the traps of self-pity, gluttony, covetousness, and the rest of those popular sins, then have you begun taking the steps towards true worship with God. Why not try it out now? Just imagine a church service without great worship music to worship the Lord to. Personally for me without praise and worship, I'd be lost. God Can Turn The Worst Of Situations Into Blessings

Very few people look towards God when things are going well. Truth is they are usually to busy and consumed to think about God. However, when times become difficult or troubles come, that's when we all seem to call out to God. Sometimes God takes the worst of situations and circumstances and turns them into blessings. We of course can't see this in the beginnings or as it's unfolding, but as time passes we do.

Did you know that the name Jesus occurs 983 times in 942 verses in the KJV Bible? That is a lot of times within a lot of verses. Did you know that the word Lord occurs 7970 times in 6749 verses in the KJV and that God is mentioned 4473 times in 3893 verses in the KJV?

Studying the Bible can be both exciting and rewarding. Performing word searches can also be exciting, rewarding and can really expand your knowledge of scripture. Take for example the word love. If you were to perform a word search on the word love and study only those scriptures whereas the word love is mentioned. You'd get quite a overview of all the scriptures regarding love.

How is it that we can pray without ceasing? Prayer goes beyond just talking or crying out to God and invokes His power and presence into your situation. Most of us do not talk while we are sleep or even during certain times of the day. What is able to keep us in a state of “ceaseless prayer”?

Beloved, your daily life should be a testimony to Christ and the Word of God. Keeping a true testimony requires you to stay connected, spiritually, to the Spirit of God; allowing God to be present. We are not only to be hearers, but doers of the Word because there are many who are watching our lives.

A right testimony comes from obeying the Word of God and the Holy Spirit. He will be directing your line of communication to God, with Jesus as your Mediator. Never make this a substitute for setting aside time in your prayer closet to “have a little talk with Jesus.”

What Path Are We Being Led Down

The more and more I hear the news reports regarding world leaders, the more I wounder what path they are leading us all down. Even here in the United States, there are times when I wonder where are leaders are leading us. Thank God that we do have some leaders of integrity that truly care about the American people. Of course as leaders, they are merely men and men can and do make mistakes. Occasionally we hear of those mistakes, as powerful men find their careers coming to an end.

Yet where are our leaders leading us? Is America prospering as a nation and people? Are Americans better off today than they were 5 years ago, or 10 years ago? Are Americans more secure financially? or is America and the American people encountering the fruit of poor leadership?

It's time to pray that God puts Godly leaders, leaders of honor and leaders of integrity into office.

There are many that see God as this Holy Righteous God of judgement. God is Holy, Righteous and a God of judgment, however God is also a God of love, mercy, forgiveness and compassion. When God sent Jesus to die on the cross for the sins of the world, God made a way for us to receive forgiveness. When we except the fact that Christ died on the cross for our sins and that through Christ we have forgiveness of sins, we start to understand and see that God is a God of love, mercy, forgiveness and compassion. Home Made Chocolate Chip Cookies & Kids

Our daughter loves sweets, as do most children. My wife loves chocolate chip cookies and milk. Every once in a while the two of them make home made chocolate chip cookies which is a blast to see. You see, our five year old, well she has arrived. She has her mothers independence, her mother's I know it all attitude and to watch the two of them baking together is funny. As I'm writing this, I'm reminded of the Ginger Bread cookies with all the dressings that were as hard as cement after they came out of the oven. Thank God the chocolate chip cookies don't turn out that way. It's fun to spend quality time with the kids cooking cookies and then sitting around with them watching them dip them into milk.

Blessings are found in the simplest things that make a huge difference in the life of a child.
